The
Georgia Chapter of the ASLA was awarded a grant in June 1997 from the Atlanta
Urban Resource Partnership to form a Community Assistance Team (CAT) which
was charged with the task of transforming Georgia Power Company's thirty
acre transmission line along the Chattahoochee River into a neighborhood
park. The CAT team developed a concept based on the knowledge and wishes
of local residents along with the practical needs of Georgia Power.
